Frank Simms is a recording artist, background vocalist, songwriter, commercial singer, announcer, and character actor. He's seen and heard on TV, films, radio, video games, and the web countless times an hour.
As a singer, he's recorded with David Bowie (and was a backup performer onstage in 1983's Serious Moonlight tour), Billy Joel (appearing on the Innocent Man tour), Madonna, Elvis Costello, Jeff Beck, Al Green, Carly Simon (for her HBO Martha’s Vineyard special), Brian Wilson, Nile Rodgers, Roger Waters, Chaka Khan, INXS, Cyndi Lauper, Phil Collins, Dionne Warwick, the Simple Minds, and more. He’s appeared on Letterman, SNL, and Conan.
His voiceover work spans decades, but Frank may be best known as the classic Kool Aid Man — he's also represented Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, FedEx, Gillette, Mennen Speed Stick, and Wheat Thins spots in numerous Super Bowls. (Remember the Honeycomb cereal monster?) He's sung in films like Working Girl, Anastasia, Mickey Blue Eyes, Tarzan, Ricochet, and Moonlight Kingdom. And tens of millions of gamers have heard him voice characters on Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption (as Magnifico), Max Payne II, Saint's Row, Gotham Knights and more.
For Saturday Night Live, Frank has recorded skit themes, parody commercial jingles, voiceovers, and sung live with musical guests for more than 40 years. (He's featured prominently on the theme song to "Saturday TV Funhouse") He was awarded an Emmy in 2007 for Outstanding Original Animated Children’s Song — "Q Without U" — on the PBS show Between the Lions. Frank resides in New York City.
